Back story to this location is that in late 1890s Ward’s house of science sold mineral kits from the Black Hills which included Torbernite from the Ross Hannibal mine. There were hundreds of these specimens, except samples from Ross Hannibal did not have any copper or uranium in them. Ross Hannibal mine has been the source of the finest sincosite crystals ever found years before the Brazilian location. Reference: Willard L Roberts mineralogy lecture 1985 at SDSM&T.
This specimen is from 1996 occurrence when open pit mining at the Ross Hannibal broken into the vein in old workings.
