(1): An old classified advertisement from a 1960 issue of the Journal of the Maine Medical Association mentions a “Winthrop Mineral Shop” selling corundum, likely sourced from other locations like Virginia or Brazil, as was common for local mineral dealers. Location is not from Withrop Maine.
